Yellowstone 2012, part 3

Here are some random photos from our trip...

Mailing a few postcards from the post office...

This was taken on Firehole Drive ( I think) with the Grand Geyser in the background...

Roosevelt Arch at the northeastern entrance to the park in Gardiner, MT...

One of the geysers in the Lower Geyser Basin...this is what the sky looks like without all the pollutants in it!

Morning photo of Old Faithful steaming away...

Along the Wind River Indian Reservation on the way in to Yellowstone...

A grove of Aspen trees (my favorite!) in Teton National Park...

View of Lake Yellowstone hotel from Gull Point...(we stayed there for a few night last year)

Gull Point views on Lake Yellowstone...

The Lake hotel far off in the distance...

We had never been to Gull Point and didn't even know it existed.  There are lots of places in Yellowstone like that and even more neat little spots to explore the next time we go back.  This spot was found from a drive we went on in the lake area. We saw a sign for it and decided to take the road. So glad we did.  We were able to park and walk on this interesting looking black sand beach area.  You cannot swim in the lake but people were fishing and walking around.  The views were beautiful!
